Commcare Assessment Unit (Malta)
CommCare Assessment Unit is a nurse-led group within the Primary Health Care Department. They do home visits and can help, assess and refer clients (including people suffering from M.E) to services according to their needs. M.E is now being accepted as one of the illnesses for which a badly affected sufferer can get this pension. Skype Service for M.E Sufferers
ME Free For All (www.mefreeforall.org) are offering a global round-the-clock 365 days a year, service thanks to the invention of Skype, which allows free telephony over the internet for anyone with broadband. Full details of how to get Skype are on this website – it is as easy as 1-2-3. If you get stuck and don’t have anyone to help you, you can email Dr John Greensmith at drjohngreensmith@mefreeforall and they’ll get you started. If you want to speak to somebody you will need a microphone, but even if you don’t have one, you can send instant messages straight away. Once you get connected you will be able to talk about anything at all, including this awful illness ME Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), and any other problems, like benefits, with others who have similar experiences. There is also light-hearted, fun stuff, jokes, humorous video clips, quizzes etc. and where you may share common interests and make some new friends.

National Commission Persons with Disability (KNPD)
People with M.E can become a member and apply for some of their services and benefits. This Commission is part of the portfolio governed by the Ministry for Social Policy, and works in collaboration with non government organisations in Malta, co-ordinating efforts and voicing the Maltese government policies on disability matters.
